Zoe video : I think it is a successful work because she puts a lot of images to go with the presentation. Her presentation is good because she speak about a lot of information of Jiri Kolar's life, she defines well visual poetry and she have a good vision of the artwork she presents
Emma video : I think her analysis is successful because she makes a great interpretation of all the work with many details and she explains what does they mean. She referes at Jiri Kolar's life and at his visual poem's spatio-temporal framework. She understands challenges of the work in the erea of the censor and soviet domination. And also, I agree with Emma's opinions about the visual poem because I believe like her. I better understand the poeme thanks to the details of stamps like the portrait in bank notes and pieces of News paper on the pedestal.
I listened to Alice's video. I think her analysis is very successfull because she describes and interprets all the elements on the visual but also about the name of the art. She made a link between her chosen visual poem and Kolar's life. It has helped me to better understand the poem because she explains that she thinks Kolar represents himself "wrinkled" and not intirely because he has been through lots of bad events in his life.
I watched Emma’s video. I think her analysis is successful because first of all she interpreted the colors of the poem and what it made her think of so it is really interesting, she made a link between the visual poem and Jiri Kolar’s life which was totally plausible. In fact, Czechoslovakia was oppressed by USSR so Kolar wasn’t able to travel: that’s why he made that globe. She also interpreted the stamps and the pedestal which was a great idea. Including to me, Emma’s analysis is totally successful and her entire video was a pleasure to watch thanks to her audible and clearly voice and her nice editing.
I listened to Luce’s presentation and I thought it was really good. The summary of Jiri Kolar’s life is complete and interesting without being too long. The definition of visual poetry is clear and simple to understand. Listening to the explanations for the poem that Luce had chosen, I immediately understood better what Jiri Kolar wanted to convey as a message. In addition, the video is well done and well assembled and its voice is audible. I think it’s a very good job.
I watched Alice's video. I liked the start of the video because of the music, also the presentation is really great because there are a lot of images to go with what she said. Also, the analysis is great because she linked his visual poems and himself because he went though roof times in his life.
I watched some videos and I decided to comment Agathe's ones. In her videos, Jiri Kolar's biography is really detailled and I think it's a good way to put a context for the analysis in order to make understand her viewpoint on his artwork. Besides, I especially like the fact she mentionned censorship in her analysis, as I also thought about it when I saw the picture cut in vertical stripes exactly like if Kolar's work had been thrown in a paper shredder... I also liked that she shared emotions she felt seeing this artwork, it's quite understable to feel this way in front of it with details of Jiri Kolar's life in mind too.
